This Privacy Policy explains how Aether & Ink, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), which operates the website mjsigne.com and publishes creative works under the pen name “MJ Signe” (the “Site”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit the Site, subscribe to our newsletter, or purchase products from us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

Contact and newsletter data: your name and email address when you subscribe to our mailing list or contact us.
Order and payment data: when you buy a product, your name, billing/shipping address, email, and order details. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
Communications: the content of messages, comments, survey responses, or reviews you send to us.

Information collected automatically

Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and dates/times of access, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
Cookies and similar technologies: small files placed on your device to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and (where applicable) support advertising and affiliate links. See Section 5.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from our service providers, such as our email platform, analytics provider, payment processor, and affiliate networks, and combine it with information we already hold about you.

Provide, operate, and maintain the Site;
Process and fulfill orders, and send order confirmations and related communications;
Send our newsletter, updates about new releases, and marketing messages (you may opt out at any time);
Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
Analyze and improve the Site, our products, and our content;
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems;
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below:

Service providers: vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as email/newsletter delivery, website hosting, analytics, order fulfillment, and payment processing (for example, hello@mjsigne.com/Mailchimp, Google Analytics, and Stripe payment processor).
Affiliate and advertising partners: where the Site uses affiliate links or advertising, partners may receive limited data as described in Section 5.
Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Some sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising or affiliate tracking may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state laws. See Section 7 for how to opt out.

4. Payments

Purchases are processed by a third-party payment processor (i.e., Stripe/PayPal/Shopify Payments). Your payment is subject to that processor’s terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We recommend reviewing your processor’s privacy practices before you buy.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Affiliate Links

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. We use analytics providers (i.e., Google Analytics) to collect aggregated usage statistics.

The Site may contain affiliate links (for example, Amazon Associates or other affiliate programs). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you, and the affiliate partner may set cookies to track the referral.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site functions. Because standards vary, we do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, but we honor recognized opt-out preference signals where required by law.

6. Email Communications and Opt-Out

When you subscribe, we use your email to send our newsletter and marketing messages through our email platform (hell@mjsigne.com/Mailchimp). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time. We may still send you transactional messages (such as order confirmations) that are necessary to complete a purchase.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of marketing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or targeted advertising. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@mjsigne.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and we may need to verify your identity first.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of sale/sharing. You may submit a request through an authorized agent. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors under 16.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data on the legal bases of consent (for marketing), performance of a contract (to fulfill orders), and our legitimate interests (to operate and improve the Site). You may withdraw consent at any time and have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at hello@mjsigne.com and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
